Netflix's 'La Casa de Papel' or 'Money Heist' is one of the most popular and beloved web series in the World. The show revolves around a gang of robbers who plan to steal billions of euros from the Royal mint of Spain. The series is full of thrill, suspense and drama. It has some great characters such as Professor, Berlin, Tokyo, Nairobi, Raquel etc and each of them has his/her own importance in the show.   1. When the series was first premiered on a Spanish TV channel; the first episode received 4.5 million viewers but gradually it lost its viewership and became a failure. Then Netflix picked it up and retitled it as 'Money Heist' for the international audience. And the rest is history.
  2. In the show, Tokyo plays the role of narrator and tells us the whole story of the heist. But the initial choice as the narrator was The Professor. But the makers thought it would be too cliche and narcissistic, so they changed the plan.
  3. 'Money Heist' is the most viewed non-English series in Netflix.
  4. In the third season, we see a Brazilian monk named Joao. Well, he is none other than the famous footballer Neymar. Yes, he is a huge fan of the show and made a cameo appearance in it.
  5. The makers initially planned to shoot the series in the Royal mint of Spain. However, they did not get permission from the Spanish Ministry, so they had to change it with a similar location.
  6. The initial choice as the title was 'Los Desahuciados', which means 'The Outcasts'. Later, the creators changed it to 'La Casa de Papel', which means 'Paper House'.
  7. The makers reinvented the 'Bella Ciao' (which means "Goodbye Beautiful") song and it plays an important role in the narrative. However, the song was originally used as a symbol of victory in Italy, during World War II.
  8. The characters are seen wearing a certain type of masks in the series. These masks are used as a tribute to the renowned artist Salvador Dali.
  9. Except the mastermind Professor, all the members in the heist team has a city name. Alvaro Morte, who played Professor in the series, said in an interview that he liked to call himself Vatican City. Because just like Vatican City, he also stays hidden but controls everyone.
  10. It's shocking, but the show inspired many real life robberies across North America and Europe.
