When the series was first premiered on a Spanish TV channel; the first episode received 4.5 million viewers but gradually it lost its viewership and became a failure. Then Netflix picked it up and retitled it as 'Money Heist' for the international audience. And the rest is history.

Except the mastermind Professor, all the members in the heist team has a city name. Alvaro Morte, who played Professor in the series, said in an interview that he liked to call himself Vatican City. Because just like Vatican City, he also stays hidden but controls everyone.
