India is a country surrounded by sea on three sides. So, it is very natural to have a variety of Seafood prevalent here. There are delicious seafood dishes of different genres in different parts of India. The recipes and flavors of these can be easily captured by you. Let's take a look at some of the traditional Indian seafood.

Achari Jhinga

Achari Jhinga is a very popular seafood dish in North India. Medium-size shrimp is used in it. Also, some spices and vegetables are required. Such as garlic, tomato, ginger, onions, powder of red chili, coriander, peppercorns, vinegar, mustard oil etc. Ginger and garlic paste are first mixed with chili powder, peppercorns and vinegar. Then the tomato and onion are fried in mustard oil and the mixture is mixed with it. Once the "Achari Jhinga" is ready, it is served with "Paratha", "Naan" or "Bread".

Kannada Jhal

The reputation of Odisha's cooks is very good all over India. Odisha is located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. So, here are great sources of fish, crabs, and others. Among the most famous seafood dishes, of them is "Kankada jhal". The crab is called "Kankara" here. Fresh crabs are brought. Then hands are separated and it is cut into small pieces. Then turmeric powder and salt are applied and kept for a while. Then various spices are mixed and cooked with a little water. This dish is eaten with rice.

Chingri Macher Malai Curry

This recipe made with shrimp, coconut milk, garlic, ginger, ghee and mustard oil has always been at the top of popularity among Bengalis. Spices like chili powder, sugar, hot spices, cardamom, are also used to bring flavor to cooking. It is cooked with lobster or shrimp pieces. It is usually eaten with rice for lunch.

Bombil Fry

Citizens of Maharashtra love this seafood dish so much. It is made with "Bombil" or "Lizardfish" found off the coast of Mumbai. Let's see how it goes. At first, a "bombil" fish is cleaned, cut, and smeared with salt, turmeric, and lemon juice. After a while, ginger, garlic and chili powder are mixed and then it is fried in oil till it becomes crispy. After it gets ready It is then served with salad.

Tandoori Pomfret:

This seafood dish will appeal to you when you visit beaches in Tamil Nadu, Goa or Maharashtra. A "Pomfret'' fish is cut and left for a while after being mixed with salt, lemon juice, ginger and garlic paste. Then, spices like turmeric, chilli powder are mixed and put in the tandoor oven. Once prepared, it is served with onion and chutney.
