Freddie Mercury

When we think of the greatest pop singer of the 20th century, the first name that comes to mind is Freddie Mercury. The full name of Freddie Mercury was Farroka Bulsara and he was born on September 5, 1946. He was a British pop singer and songwriter. He was of Indian-Parsi descent. His parents came from a Parsi community in western India. The Bulsaras were from the town of Valsad in Gujarat. At the age of 8, Freddie was sent to Bombay, India to attend St. Peters School. There he formed the school band, The Hectics. He wrote 10 songs, including "We will rock you,""BohemianRhapsody,""I want to break free" and "Another one bites the dust."

Norah Jones

The real name of Norah Jones is Geethali Norah Jones Shankar. She was born on March 30, 1979. She is an American singer and songwriter. Her mother Sue Jones is British and her father Ravi Shankar was an Indian-Bengali musician. She is known as an Indian-Bengali and Indian-American singer. After her parents divorced, she began living in Grapevine, Texas. She started singing in church. Her album comes away with me made her popular. She was named the best artist of the decade by Billboard. She also won Grammy Awards. She also starred in some movies like Two Weeks Notice, Dolly Parton and Sesame Street. Her albums feel like home (2004), not too late (2007), and the fall (2009).

Jay Sean

Jay Sean's real name is Kamaljeet Singh Jhooti. He was born on March 26, 1981 in Hounslow, West London, in an Indian Punjabi family. His father Sharan Singh Shooti and mother Bindi Kaur are both Indian. Jay Sean is an English singer-songwriter and producer. He chose the name Jay seen because Jay was the nickname his friends gave him, and Sean means Shaan or pride. Some of his best songs are Fade Away and All On Your Body.

Raveena Aurora

Another stunning pop singer of Indian descent is Raveena Aurora. She was born in New York on September 30, 1993. Her family migrated to New York from Punjab after the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. She started writing songs at the age of 13. She is also a songwriter. Some of her best-known songs are You Give Me That, Johnny It's Last Time and Spells. She became famous among teenagers for her debut Shanti in 2017.
