Spooky Vibe Alert! Spine chilling haunted railway stations in India

Have you ever sat in a blanket with your pals around a bonfire under the stars on a night and listened to eerie stories?

Every ghost railway station has been associated with stories and legends that may or may not be factual. There is always an element of terror when the train stops at such stations. When it comes to spooky stories, one cannot avoid the dark happenings of many trains and railway stations and a conversation on haunted railway stations in India does not lag. Right?

Begunkodor station, Weest Bengal

This station is located in West Bengal, in the Purulia district. Residents say to have observed women in white sarees come frequently at midnight during the arrival of some trains. There were supposedly eyewitnesses to this as well. These women, it is thought, were murdered in a train accident at the Begunkodor railway station and emerged at midnight because their souls had not found rest.

Barong station, Shimla

According to legend, he was assigned the task of constructing Tunnel 33 at this station. After many days of work, it was discovered that the length had been overestimated, and so the entire project had failed. After being chastised and fined by the government, Barog could not hold back his sadness and one day while out for a stroll with his dog, he killed himself by shooting himself with a handgun outside the Barog station’s tunnel.

Dombivli station, Maharashtra

This train station is one of the scariest in the country, according to locals, because thousands of accidents have occurred here, and cries can be heard in and around the station. Some people say, a lady is spotted standing and grieving every night and when questioned why she is crying, she responds that she needs to return home but can't.

Naini Junction, Uttar Pradesh

The place where many political dissidents were previously imprisoned, is located near the Naini junction. It is thought that the ‘ghosts’ of these troubled and later deceased people roam around the crossroads after sunset because their souls could not find peace in their afterlife.

Chittoor station, Andhra Pradesh

The station and its grounds are said to be haunted by the soul of a late CRPF official named Hari Singh, who was attacked by RPF personnel on a train travelling from Delhi to Kerala.

Ludhiana junction

It is said that Subhash, a former employee of the Computer Reservation System who passed away in 2004, still visits this station in spirit. People claim that Subhash loved his profession and that even after his death, his spirit still lurks around the Reservation Centre office where he formerly worked.

Sohagpur station, MP

This “ghost railway station of India” is located in Madhya Pradesh, close to Bhopal. Numerous individuals claim to have witnessed various voices at the station during nighttime when the train stopped on the platform or even just in general. Some people think it’s a woman screaming because she’s in excruciating pain. The fear that must have gripped the passengers on the platform is extremely terrifying.

Mulund station, Mumbai

The ghosts of those who were killed by trains while crossing the rails are rumoured to haunt this station. Both tourists and residents have frequently complained about hearing screams, cries and yells in the nighttime and firmly think that Mulund station is among India’s most haunted railway stations.

Bholu station, Rajasthan

Rumour has it that a woman's ghost wanders the station grounds dressed in a flowing white gown. She allegedly met a terrible end on the train tracks, leaving a restless spirit that is still claimed to haunt the station.
