TVS Raider 125: Many Segment-First Features

Launched at 77,500, the all-new TVS Raider offers several segment-first features in the 125cc commuter motorcycle category

A few days ago, Hosur-based motorcycle maker TVS wooed us with the 2022 TVS Apache 310. Now, out of nowhere, the company has launched a 125cc commuter motorcycle by the name Raider. Launched at INR 77,500, TVS claims the motorcycle offers several features which are not found on any other Indian motorcycle in the 125cc commuter category.

Powered by a 125cc, air and oil-cooled 3V engine, the motorcycle makes a peak power figure of 11.13hp at 7,500rpm and a torque figure of 11.2Nm at 6,000rpm. As per the company, the motorcycle can hit a speed of 0 to 60 kilometres per hour in 5.9 seconds, which is not achievable by any other motorcycle in the segment. Not to forget, TVS claims the motorcycle has a top speed of 99 kilometres per hour.

At the launch event, KN Radhakrishnan, the Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, said, “TVS Motor Company caters to customers across almost every continent. We are happy to add a new global motorcycle platform to our portfolio with the TVS Raider, which is designed for the young, digitally native Gen Z. True to its target segment, it is equipped with cutting-edge in-vehicle and connected technology. I am confident that TVS Raider shall be the preferred choice for our young consumers both in India and globally.”

Moving on to the other hardware, the TVS Raider is armed with a reverse LCD digital speedometer with ride modes such as eco and power. Not to forget, the motorcycle is also armed with a brand-new Ecothrust Fuel injection (ETFi) technology, which enhances the fuel economy of the motorcycle. Also, the Raider has the TVS intelliGO which automatically switches off the motorcycle when it is in an idling mode to save fuel.

Apart from these features, another variant of the motorcycle with a 5-inch TFT cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, voice assist, navigation and TVS SMARTXOCONNECT is likely to be launched soon.

Last but not least, Aniruddha Haldar, the Vice President (Marketing) of Commuters, Corporate Brand & Dealer Transformation at TVS Motor Company, said, “TVS Motor Company has long recognised Gen Z as a key consumer cohort. We will again seize their imagination with the TVS Raider and its Naked Street Styling, best-in-class Acceleration with Ride Modes and mono-shock based ride-handling together with the TVS intelliGO and ETFi led mileage performance. I am sure our customers would appreciate the distinctive ride character of the TVS Raider; its one-of-a-kind animalistic headlight and the first-in-segment reverse LCD cluster.”
