Unique Structures That Thailand Is Proud To Have

Have a thing for cultural monuments? Here are some of the places in Thailand you must visit.

No matter which place of the world you travel to, there will always be some exquisite architectures and sculptures that will take you in awe. Thailand is no different, and if you can say so, it is one of the countries that excel in mesmerizing both tourists and locals with its unique artistry. Each piece is a mere reflection of its rich cultural history and religious beliefs. Passed from various dynasties, the standing sculptures have more to tell you about the past than you will get from any other artefacts. Here are some of the famous sites you must visit.

Prasat Him Phimai-

Built in the 11th and 12th century, Phimai features Khmer architecture and is the most significant temple standing, flaunting the style. Facing the southeast direction, the Buddhist temples have stories engraved from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. They form a link between the two religions and is a place you will find your peace at.

Wat RongKhun-

Wat RongKhun is a restoration project of the 20th-century temple. The white exterior reflects light and hence the name. The walls are embedded in the glass to emit light and signify purity. The interiors of the building have many ornamental sculptures that display the sheer brilliance of the artists.

Wat Samphran Temple-

It might not be a tourist attraction, but the structure is sure to grab your attention the moment you see it. A tall tower encircled by a massive sculpture of a dragon is not something you expect to see every day. The dragon is hollow on the inside, and tourists are allowed to take a tour inside. The interiors are laden with bronze statues that stun everyone who enters it.

Wat ArunRatchawaram-

Named after the Hindu god of dawn, Arun. The largest pagoda stands at 70 meters and is a vision early in the morning when it sparkles in the golden light. The whole complex of pagodas is decorated with seashells and is always filled with tourists and locals alike.

Elephant Tower-

Inaugurated in 1997, it is an iconic skyscraper also symbolizing the national animal of the country. It has a collaboration of banks, offices and even residential suites. The shape of the building is what inspires millennials towards interesting architectural goals.
