Check out these home remedies to get rid of irritations caused by sunburns and heal as well as soothe your skin in an effective way without spending a bomb.

Summer is already here which means it is time to head outside and soak up the sun, getting tanned and sunburned. To fight these, you can try out a few home remedies unfortunately all of us have one at least in our memory. Here are some tricks to heal your sunburned skin and soothe it as well.

Oatmeal and Baking soda

Mix a few heaping tablespoons of baking soda into a bathtub that is filled with cool water and let it soak for about 15-20 minutes. It helps to minimize sun damage caused to your skin. Apart from baking soda, a cup of oats can also soothe irritation caused by sunburn and help the skin to retain its natural moisture. Do not scrub your skin rather dab yourself and dry with a towel.

Cold water

Do you know what a sunburn is? It is an inflammation of the skin. There is the easiest way to treat that inflammation by cooling down the affected area. There is an effective way to reduce the inflammation caused by sunburn, even when you are roaming outside in the sun is to hop in the water whether it is an ocean, stream, or lake. Dipping in and out the entire day can help to keep the sunburn from worsening and be aware of pools because it contains chlorinated water which can irritate your skin more. Although it might look appealing when you are experiencing a burning sensation in your skin but can actually cause even more damage to those extra-sensitive parts of your skin.

Chamomile tea

It is quite soothing to your spirit and also soothes your sunburned skin. Brew the tea and let it cool, then when it gets ready, soak a washcloth in it and apply it to those affected areas of your skin. But there is a thing, if you are allergic to pollen then do not use this trick as it may cause an allergic reaction.

Use aloe vera

If you do not have any aloe vera plants in your house go and get one. The gel has been used for ages as it is quite beneficial for skin and hair, for all sorts of ailments like kidney infections to upset stomachs. If you can extract the gel directly from the plant and put it over the irritated part of your skin, it gives you instant relief from the sting of minor sunburn.
