As A Parent, How Do You Take Care Of Your Child's Mental Health Before Exam?

Parental affection and care keep the child stress-free!

Many children often get sick before the exam due to excessive tension and fear.  As a result of suffering from anxiety and depression about the test results, many children start panicking when they go to the examination hall, for which they cannot even write down the known and memorized answers. As a parent, it is your responsibility to eliminate this fear of your child.

Your child may be depressed before exams: But why?

Do not impose your expectations on your child. It is not your child's responsibility to meet your expectations. Tell your child to concentrate throughout the year, ask him to follow school and tuition notes properly. If your child has a tendency to Procrastinate, it is going to create extra stress before the test. Help your child change this habit. Do not compare your child with others. It ruins your child's self-confidence, which has a direct effect on his mental health. You need to take special care of your child before the test so that he is free from mental worries. Your job as a parent is to look after your child's sleep, hunger, fatigue, and other physical and emotional needs.

Encourage your child: Everytime you can

Every child has different capabilities and intelligence. Your child will prepare according to his own abilities and competencies and will get results accordingly. If you always bully and scold your child, he/she will always be scared and will not be able to show his/her full potential in the test. In addition, putting undue pressure on a child can have a very negative effect on the overall psychological efficacy, so be responsible as a parent and encourage him / her without causing emotional distress and anxiety. The positive effects of this constructive behavior will inspire your child to do well on the test.

Do not intimidate your child unnecessarily: Don’t be aggressive

Many parents try to intimidate their children with the test results. Don't threaten the child with 'You will be dropped out of school if you get low marks' or 'You will be sent to boarding if you get low marks'. This results in excessive emotional pain making your child traumatized. Rather, teach your child that the main purpose of education means more than just getting higher grades, learning actually symbolizes knowledge. This acquired knowledge is the undeniable path to success throughout life.

Make sure your child is getting enough sleep: Cognitive rationality is essential

Adequate sleep is needed before the test to relieve mental and physical fatigue, increase concentration and keep the mind fresh. Sleep is also very important to increase memory and cognitive functionality. So, pay attention to your child's sleep cycle before the test.

Regulate your child's food habit before the exam: Essential component

It is recommended to eat home-made food to keep the body healthy before and during the test. It is best to avoid street food or junk food at this time. Also, be sure to include eggs, fish, chicken, yogurt and various seasonal fruits in your child's daily diet before the exam.
