Easy and safe science experiments to do at home

To make the time at home fun and learning, this is the best way.

It is difficult to grab a child’s attention when they have the whole to spend at home. Studying for sure is an option that is always there but even that has a threshold for both. At such a time what comes in handy is keeping the child engaged in activities that require both mental as well as physical attention. At the same time, the activity for them has to be interesting and keeps the child attached to the game or activity. So here are some fun science experiments that will keep the children glued to the work.

The Milky Way art

You need for this is a bowl, ½ cup of milk, dish soap, cotton swab, and different food colors. Take a bowl and pour the milk into it. Make sure to keep the bowl and the milk is not moving at all. To this add drops of different food colors to the milk in different places. Now take a cotton swab and at the end add a tiny amount of dish soap, using this cotton swab touch one of the colors. See colorful magic take place.

Lava emitting lamp

You need for this is a clean plastic bottle with smooth sides, water, vegetable oil, fizzing tablets, and food coloring. Begin by filling 1/4th of the bottle with water. To this add vegetable oil until it is full. After pouring the oil one needs to wait for about a few minutes to let the oil and water separate. Now add a few drops of food color and see it pass through the oil. Then drop half of the fizzy tablet into the bottle. Soon after turning off the lights, grab a flashlight; drop the remaining half of the tablet, and flash the light on it. See the fluorescent color shining through the lamp.

Making the drawing figures float

You need for this is a glass plate, bowl, dry-erase marker, and water. Go ahead and explore the artistic side of yourself and draw either a simple picture or a portrait on the glass. However, a stick figure is an easy and best option to start the experiment. After the artwork is done, pour water onto the plate or into the bowl slowly and see the drawing lifting up slowly. Now, you can also make the water move around to make the picture dance and move.
