Underwater discoveries that shook the world

More than stories less than facts

Our world is a pandora’s box with many mysteries hidden inside it. Some of them we have been able to solve and some of them aren’t. But there is no doubt about the undiscovered mysteries that is this piece of rock is hiding. And oceans play the greatest role in covering them up. These deep blue oceans are the greatest secret keepers, which hide a lot of things inside them. But with the recent technological innovations, it has been possible for us to discover some of them. Here are some of the underwater discoveries that shook the world and brought up something that was never heard before.

A shipwreck with treasures

The Colombian government in 2015 found out the remains of the San José, a Spanish galleon that erupted into flames off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia in 1708.  But it is no ordinary ship, with it, sunk nearly 600 people and up to $20bn worth of gold, silver, and jewels. Due to its gigantic weight, it was not taken out but still, it’s at the center of a custody dispute among parties all staking claim to the San José’s riches.

Yonaguni Monument

The Yonaguni monument is a huge stone formation found at a depth of 85 feet in the region of Yonaguni, the southernmost of the Ryukyu Islands, in Japan. The divers in that region have traced the clear contours of the pyramids, streets, and stairs. this entire structure is about the size of a half soccer field and is believed to be 5000 years old. Many believe it is the remaining of the legendary civilizations of Mu or Lemuria but their lack of technological advancement, especially during that time wouldn’t allow them to build such a structure. Some scientists also believed that these are all-natural formations caused by underwater currents but some people believe it to be human-made.

Baltic Sea Anomaly

This Baltic sea anomaly has generated many conspiracy theories. This object is as long as a hockey rink and is similar in shape to the star wars Millennium Falcon. This strange object was found in 2011. Some people believe it’s a UFO (Unidentified flying object ) that has crashed into the sea and some believe it to be the remains of an ancient city that sank in weaves many years ago. But the fact is, this stone formation was a part of a glacier, but the researchers believe it to be more than just a part of a glacier. It has been observed that whenever people reached close to the structure with their electronic equipment, it stopped working, and as they came back, it again start working.

Ice Finger of Death

Ice finger death is the strangest phenomenon observed in the undersea. Looks like a tornado, an Ice Finger of Death is an underwater icicle traveling down to the ocean’s surface.  It has been observed that when it reaches the bottom, it freezes everything it touches, becoming a deadly force.
